割烹着とは

着物の作業着といえば、割烹着が思いつきます。着物の袖を汚さず納めるように、幅の広い手首までの袖がついていて、袖口はゴム状です。首元は四角だったり三角だったり。丈は、膝丈かもしくは脛ぐらいまであります。

後ろは首元と背中の辺りで紐で結びます。

前や袖をぬらさず、尚且つ、どんな帯結びにも対応できるようにように後ろは紐で調整可能！素晴らしく理にかなっています。歴史的には諸説あり、大学の作業着、料理研究家の発案などいろいろあるみたいですが明治時代ごろからあるようです。その頃からより使いやすいように進化してきたんでしょうね。

作ってみよう

着物を大切に着たいので、よし割烹着でもと思って調べてみました。

そしたら、本当に知らなかったのですがいろんな色があってビックリ、レースの物もありますし、進化は続きますね。

どれにしようか悩んだのですが、買えませんでした。

なかなかのお値段。安く見積もっても五千円前後。洗って使うにしても、最低二枚必要です。う～ん。汚れる物にその値段はつらい。

悩んで、裁縫下手ですが、作ってしまいました！昔買った洋服用の割烹着がタンスの奥にあったので、それを型紙代わりにして、袖は適当に広くしました。生地は、一番安いので、二千円程で購入。これで作ると暑いかなあとも思いましたが、これより薄いと縫えるきがしませんし、まあいいかあ～と(^^)

ハサミ入れる時には、失敗したら結局金額高くなるとドキドキでした。

形は、バスローブ風です。後ろ合わせにしようと作ったのですが、前合わせでもいけるのではと思います。裁縫苦手大雑把な私にしては、よくできました。

まだ一つしか作ってないのですが、しばらく着てみて、改善するところがあればなおして作ろうと思います。

私は、今回、割烹着でした。帯や帯揚げなど手作りされる方も多いそうです。自分が欲しい物なかったら、作るもありですよね。

What is kappougi(割烹着）?

Kappougi（割烹着） are kimono work clothes. A wide sleeve that hold the sleeves of a kimono. the cuffs are small with rudder. Another feature is to string around the back of the neck and back.

I wont not wet the front and sleeves. No matter how wide the obi （帯）changes, it can be handled. It is very convenient.　There are many theories about people who thought about koppougi（割烹着）. It was in the meiji(明治） period that it was made.

I tried making

I want to wear a kimono carefully. I decided to buy kappougi so that they would not get dirty.

I looked it up and found that there were many colors and beautiful lace attached. Evolution continues. I was surprised.

It is nice, but I could not buy it.

It is about 5,000 yen each, which is over my budget.

I though about it. And I decided to make it myself. I bought the fabric for 2,000 yen. The sleeves were properly widened and shaped like bathrobes. When cut it with scissors, I was nervous that if I failed, I would exceed my budget.

I can wear it in front or back. I am not good at sewing, but I was able to make it well. I will try this on. I will find something to improve and make another one.

I made kappougi（割烹着）. it is also good to make obi（帯） and obiage（帯揚げ） by hand.
